So I needed a forum in which to create my story based on my experiences in Day Z.
Here we are.
Day 1.
I don't know what the fuck just happened. One minute I'm on my way home from a trip to Japan doing some relief work, teaching english and learning Japanese. Spent 3 years in that gorgeous part of the world. I met a girl, she was american and pretty much doing the same thing. Plus a bit of spiritual finding... but that was then. This is now. This is hell. I suppose the plane crashed, but then again when I woke up on that beach, I didnt see any wreckage of a plane nor did I see any signs of life.
Once my eyes readjusted to the sun, I noticed that nothing, not a damned thing I owned was around. I had the clothes on my back and my flashlight. Oddly enough, I didnt have my phone, keys or wallet in my pockets anymore. Did they fall out while I was underwater? But I didnt even have water in my lungs and I wasn't very waterlogged, a bit wet. The tide maybe?
So lets just say the movies were right: Zombies, or more aptly "the infected" are real. I found that out the hard way. Once I tried to get my bearings, I headed north along the coast. There was a lighthouse there and when i got closer I could make out a shipping yard down further. I didnt see any signs of life or even vehicles. No animals or birds. Nothing. Frustrating to say the least. I'm starting to get a little hungry and thirsty and I couldnt exactly drink the water from the oceans.
The lighthouse was deserted of, well, everything. This was just getting weirder and weirder.
FINALLY!
Signs of life! There's a person down there. Why is she hopping around like a kangaroo? Is she sick? I see what looks like bile or vomit coming out of her mouth. I dont like this. Just going to keep an eye on her and see what the hell she does. For about and hour all she did was bounce around. Man I'm hungry.
Gunshot? Airplane? What the fuck was that?
Suddenly a screech from the woman and she jumped up straight and bolted off in the direction of the sound. What the hell was that sound? Was she screaming in pain?
Wait a minute. Did I just say something? She's looking at my direction up on the lighthouse... shes... shes sprinting. At me? AT ME???
Before I know it shes up there in the room. I closed the door to the balcony I was perched on but that wont help. I need to get in and get down. The railing!
I grab a hold of it, its solid. Wont budge. But the concrete is cracked and weathered. Neglect and years of wear and tear from the ocean air I bet. Kicking, pushing, bending. Man this is taking forever. Giving up some room, but not enough to get me a makeshift weapon. She doesnt shut up, the entire time shes pounding on the glass, screaming at me. Drooling. The drool almost makes it funny. Almost.
I must not have noticed with the grunting and pulling and physical stress but before I knew it the bitch was on my back trying to bite me. Scratching me with her rotting fingertips. The glass! Shoved that bitch right on the exposed glass. But she didnt let go, not altogether. She held on for dear life. But this was a good time to get some understanding. I picked up the biggest shard and sliced off an arm. Then two. I'm look at this once human disfigure. No apendages left. Skins all rot. Eyes. Those eyes... Red. Black. Both. Neither. Just pure rage. Psychosis. No more humanity left in them. Its true. I stabbed her in the forehead and finally she stopped. Stopped wailing. Stopped chomping at me to get a bite. Dead. Re-dead.
I have to move. Fast. If any more of those things heard the recent commotion, they'd be on this place fast and I dont want to be here when they do.
A farmhouse? How did I not see that?
Back down from where I "landed". Half a kilometer? Easy.
Cautiously. Carefully. Quietly. Always. Running parallel to the road and keeping to the trees I make good time jogging towards the farm. I'm wheezing pretty hard right now - what I would give for a cold glass of water. From the treeline I could make out 2 more of the sick people. The infected. Lucky enough they were heading away from the farmhouse in the opposite direction from me. Just gotta creep down there.
Inside the barn was a haul and a half. A rifle. Winchester I believe. Some shells and of all things a can of beans! Oh man. That didnt last long. But I dont have anything to keep it in that i could ration it. Better fill my belly now. I can always find more. Who knows what else this farm has laying around.
Well that was a bust. Both the main house and the stables didnt have anything of use. I did find some cloth I turned into some makeshift wraps for bandages or splints. Be prepared for anything.
I think I should stay the night in the farmhouse. There's a loft up there I could pull the ladder up and get a nights rest, hopefully. Still thirsty. I wonder if there's water in the trough or outhouse. Gross I know, but fuck. I need water. I wont be able to run if I get too dehydrated. That could cost me dearly.
Well no water in the trough but I did find a hatchet and some firewood. Not that I'd make a fire anywhere open... or at all. Not with them. Not with the chance they could see it. Can they smell?
At least I'm getting somewhere. Where I'm going is a mystery. But away from here thats for sure. For now. Survive.
